As you view the following photos pay close attention to the foundation. The block used is 12". The sub-floor rest on 6" of the block surface while the remaining 6" is utilized by the hand crafted 6" X 12" hemlock log. This construction method doesn't take away square footage from the home. With some log home suppliers the walls are stacked on the surface of the sub-floor.
Also note the following log stacking methods including the use of log anchor bolts, load blocks between the logs, dovetail corners, alignment rods driven into the logs and the preparation of the rough openings for the windows and doors. Our construction methods are superior to the competition.
